For over twenty years, Grandma Connie dedicated her heart to the preschool classroom. It was there, surrounded by the bright curiosity of young children, that she discovered a unique kind of magic: rewriting classic folk tunes to celebrate the natural world. By pairing simple, familiar melodies with themes of the earth, she found a way to make environmental education feel like play.

Her deep love for nature isn't just a teaching philosophy; it's a lifestyle. For three decades, she and her family built and operated a fishing lodge on the wild, rugged West Coast of Vancouver Island. Living alongside the ancient rainforests, salmon rivers, and the vast Pacific Ocean, she spent her days exploring the wonders of the coast with her children and anchoring her soul in the rhythms of the bioregion.

Now, Grandma Connie is embarking on a brand-new adventure from her garden studio. She is translating a lifetime of classroom magic, coastal memories, and original story-poems into a beautiful collection of children's books. Her mission is to share these singing storybooks with a new generation of teachers, parents, and caregivers—planting seeds of curiosity, deep connection, and a lifelong love for nature in the hearts and minds of young children everywhere.
